I’m getting pretty close to finishing this second draft of Valentine. I’m at the stages of planning the next story. The idea now is to make it a bit shorter than V, kind of an in-between story till I have a bigger, stronger drama idea to work with. That said, I have a lot of faith in this new concept, and I’m liking the details I have right now.
One thing I am worried about, however, is my playlist. People who know me know that I use music when writing all the time. It’s a necessity in most cases. Not just any kind of music, either. Something with a dreamy quality to it, that evokes emotion, something that can fill my head with images to use for stories. And for Valentine, I have a pretty amazing list of songs I’ve been using. Sometimes just hearing them, I remember certain scenes or lines, or I just feel fluttery or energized by them. I’m hoping to find a new playlist for this new story before I finish Valentine. Let me know if you have any suggestions!
For now, here’s the playlist for Valentine:
1. Jimmy Eat World – Seventeen
2. John Murphy & Underworld – Mercury
3. Koop – Come to Me
4. DeVotchKa – New World
5. DeVotchKa – How it Ends
6. DeVotchKa – Reprise
7. DeVotchKa – The Last Beat of My Heart
8. Cassino – Governor
9. Cassino – The Old Year
10. Donora – Shh
11. Blink-182 – Another Girl, Another Planet
12. Zox – Goodnight
13. Mogwai – The Sun Smells Too Loud
